As a leading company in the information services industry, Hitachi Solutions handles a wide range of information including information on our technology and information we collect from customers. Recognizing the value of this information, we have established information management systems and worked to ensure their proper functioning.
In light of this background, Hitachi Solutions has established personal information protection management systems that include the formulation of rules and the establishment of a management regime, and has also created the following Privacy Policy, in accordance with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information, JIS Q 15001 (“Personal Information Protection Management Systems - Requirements”), laws and regulations concerning the handling of personal information, guidelines established by the Japanese government, and other norms. These systems and policies are shared with all employees, and we will strive to protect personal information appropriately in accordance with these policies.

Formulation, Implementation, Maintenance and Continuous Improvement of Personal Information Protection Management Systems
We inform our officers and employees of the importance of protecting personal information, establish personal information protection management systems to ensure that personal information is used and protected appropriately, and steadily implement, maintain, and continuously improve these systems.
Acquisition, Use and Provision of Personal Information; No Use for Unintended Purpose
In light of Hitachi Solutions’ position and activities within the information service industry that require the handling of personal information, we have established management systems for the protection of personal information that are tailored to the actual conditions of each business, and we handle the acquisition, use and provision of personal information appropriately in accordance with the prescribed rules.
We also prohibit, and take measures to prevent, the use of personal information for unintended purpose.
Security Measures Implementation and Corrective Action
In order to ensure the accuracy and security of personal information, Hitachi Solutions implements measures to prevent divulgence, loss, or damage of personal information, including managing access to personal information, restricting removal of personal information from the premises, and preventing unauthorized access from outside, in accordance with information security regulations.
If any problem is identified with regard to these security measures, the cause is identified and corrective action is taken.
Compliance with laws, regulations and norms
We comply with laws and regulations regarding the handling of personal information, as well as guidelines and other norms established by the Japanese government.
In addition, we ensure that our personal information management rules comply with those laws and regulations, guidelines, and other norms.
Respect for Rights of Relevant Individuals regarding Personal Information
When an information subject requests that we disclose, correct, or delete personal information, cease using or providing personal information, makes a complaint or request for consultation, we respond in good faith, respecting the individual’s rights regarding their personal information.
Delegation of Handling of Personal Information
When we delegate the handling of all or part of the personal information acquired under Section 2, we select contractors that provide an adequate level of protection, and take appropriate contractual and other measures to protect personal information.

Hitachi Solutions, having been examined by the Japan Information Technology Services Industry Association (JISA) for its efforts to protect personal information, has been certified by the Japan Institute for Promotion of Digital Economy and Community (JIPDEC) to be granted the Privacy Mark, which is granted to businesses that handle personal information appropriately.

Hitachi Solutions will acquire and use personal information solely to the extent necessary to achieve the purposes listed in each item in relation to our business activities, which consist mainly of information service businesses.When we request the provision of personal information, we will clearly state the purpose of use in advance and obtain the information subject’s consent.
Hitachi Solutions will not provide personal information to third parties without the information subject’s prior consent, except where special conditions apply.
We may provide personal information, including an information subject’s name, place of work, home address, telephone number, fax number, and email address, to our group companies for the purpose of joint business activities.
