The company’s legacy platform, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012, could no longer support its growing complexity and regional expansion. While dependable, it now requires a significant upgrade to meet modern business needs.

Sankyu’s vision for growth has always been rooted in innovation and human potential. However, its outdated ERP system posed challenges in localization, scalability, and compliance— ultimately hindering productivity and increasing costs. To address these issues, Sankyu partnered with Hitachi Solutions Asia Pacific to lead its leap from legacy infrastructure to a modern, cloud-based, AI-powered platform like Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain Management (SCM).

The transition enabled Sankyu to unify its financial operations, strengthen compliance, and gain real-time visibility across its regional entities. With a cloud-first architecture, advanced analytics, and robust financial capabilities, Dynamics 365 eliminated Sankyu’s outdated processes and introduced a standardized global template— reinforced by multiple rounds of data validation, and a strong change management strategy.

The transformation was driven by three key pillars: a platform upgrade to improve reporting and decision-making, a unified financial template across regions, and a meticulous data migration and validation process. These efforts laid the groundwork for a more agile and efficient organization.

As a result, Sankyu successfully unified its operations across Southeast Asia, particularly in Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia. The company is now in the position to scale confidently, accelerate innovation, and unlock new revenue streams— all thanks to Hitachi Solutions and Dynamics 365.

With the success of the initial phases, Sankyu now prepares to extend Dynamics 365 Finance and SCM to additional countries, including Vietnam and Thailand. The ongoing collaboration between Hitachi Solutions Asia Pacific and Sankyu will ensure its team continues to pave the way for sustained growth and success for the business.
