Linux Foundation Japan (LF Japan) has launched an evangelist program, and two members from Hitachi Group––Ayumi Watanabe from Hitachi Solutions, Ltd. and Yuichi Nakamura from Hitachi, Ltd.––have been selected to serve as the first evangelists.
The Linux Foundation (LF) is the world’s foremost supporter of open-source software development, providing aid to Linux and other OSS development communities and developers. LF also provides OSS-related legal support, with a focus on protecting the Linux trademark, and runs Open Source Summit, KubeCon + CloudNativeCon, and other conferences. LF’s office in Japan, LF Japan, facilitates the participation of Japanese companies and communities in the global open ecosystem promoted by LF projects, to enable mutual growth and development.
Ayumi Watanabe is committed to promote software bills of materials (SBOM) and promoting inter-company collaboration, and serves as a planning leader for OpenChain Japan, an official LF project. Yuichi Nakamura has more than 20 years of experience in OSS community activities, and as a LF board member, he has served as a liaison between domestic and international communities and related organizations.
Both are scheduled to lead promotional activities for LF projects in Japan. Their specific duties will include organizing meetups, preparing and translating documents and training materials, giving talks, and writing blog posts.
